Michters

MICHTER'S US 1 WHISKEYS

The US 1 expressions, so named to honor Michter’s heritage harkening back to America’s first whiskey company, consist of some of the finest single barrel and truly small batch whiskeys available. Distilled to Master Distiller Pamela Heilmann’s exacting specifications, no US 1 whiskey is ever released until Willie and the Michter's tasting panel deems it ready.

LIMITED PRODUCTION - 10 YEAR & 20 YEAR

The 10-Year Rye, 10-Year Bourbon and 20-Year Bourbon expressions reflect the exceptional results of uncompromising craftsmanship and Kentucky's unrivalled climate for aging outstanding whiskey. Often much older than the age statement on the label, only a select few barrels age with the elegance required for inclusion in these highly limited releases.

Basil Haydens

Basil Haydens

The recipe of this  bourbon dates back to 1796, when Basil Hayden himself was a master distiller. Hayden was born and raised in Maryland, where he learned to make whisky from rye. When he came to Kentucky, Hayden began making whiskey from a base of corn, but added a higher percentage of rye than other distillers, resulting in a smooth, mild bourbon that was distinctly his own.

Buffalo Trace

December 7, 2015 Ray Rogers

Buffalo Trace has been making legendary bourbon whiskey for over 220 years through prohibition and two world wars. The Buffalo Trace distillery has been awarded 'Distillery of the Year' 7 times and Buffalo Trace has been award over 22 national and international awards. The whiskey shows wonderful aromas of vanilla, mint and molasses which follows through on the palate with notes of brown sugar and spice. A long and dry finish rounds off what is a truly great whiskey

Bulleit

December 7, 2015 Ray Rogers

Bulleit Rye

In 2004 Bulleit won the Gold Medal for being in the top of its class at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition - beating more expensive and better known premium bourbons such as Knob Creek, Maker's Mark and Jim Beam Black. The company has recently launched a cracking 95% rye packaged in the same award winning 1880s replica bottle design.

Bulleit 10YO

Owned by Diageo, Bulleit doesn’t technically distill its Bourbon or their new Rye. They contract with other distilleries to produce both of these whiskeys (the bourbon is made at Four Roses). The new 95 Rye gets its name from the 95% rye grain mash bill from Lawrenceburg Distillers Indiana (LDI).

Bulleit Bourbon, "Frontier Whiskey" was originally distilled in 1830. Over the years the brand has moved from one company to another and one distillery to another. Since 1997 Bulleit has been a Seagram product and it is made at their Lawrenceburg distillery in Kentucky. Bulleit is produced with a higher proportion of rye than most other Bourbons, creating a drier more complex spirit. The distillery has its own Grain Division, which acquires distiller's grade grains grown to Bulleit's specification. Only limestone-filtered water is used during production which sees the whiskey distilled in small batches then aged for no less than six years in a single-story warehouse (which is said to reduce inconsistencies in the maturation process). In March, 2004 Bulleit Bourbon won the Gold Medal for being in the top of its class at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition - beating more expensive and better known premium bourbons such as Knob Creek, Maker's Mark and Jim Beam Black.

This new 10 Year Old limited release is beautifully packaged in an award winning 1880s replica bottle and box design.

Bulleit

Bulleit is one of the fastest-growing Small Batch Bourbons in America. The age, not a drop less than six years, provides a mature, complex flavour. Bulleit's unique 175 year old recipe includes a large amount of rye grain, giving Bulleit its distinctive taste: full-bodied and spicy with a long, smooth finish.

Eagle Rare 10yo

December 7, 2015 Ray Rogers

This outstanding bourbon is aged in oak for over 10 years. It is masterfully crafted by using product from only 1 barrel, no blending from others! The rareness of this great bourbon is most evident in its beguiling and complex nose. Each bottle of Eagle rare offers consistent flavour properties, but with seemingly individual personality that displays alternating dominant characteristic on the nose. The only bourbon to ever win the double gold medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition five times.

George T Stagg Jnr

December 7, 2015 Ray Rogers

George T. Stagg was one of the legendary craftsmen of Buffalo Trace Distillery, and is responsible for building the operation. In 2002, the distillery introduced George T. Stagg Bourbon which subsequently won numerous awards including World’s Best North American Whiskey, Number One Spirit in the World, and World Whiskey of the Year.

Buffalo Trace has now released a younger, more "accessible" version of their award winning bourbon, named "Stagg Junior". Clocking in at 134.4 proof, it's a similarly unfettered, unfiltered, uncut, brawny effort that's bound to excite devotees of hardcore American wood aged spirits.

Knob Creek

December 7, 2015 Ray Rogers
KNOB SINGLE.jpg

Knob Creek Single Barrell

Nearly two decades after Booker Noe, grandson of Jim Beam and sixth-generation distiller, first introduced Knob Creek, the distillery unveils its first-ever single barrel bourbon. It is carefully hand-selected, barrel-by-barrel before being cut with water, consequently, the selection process allows for variations in taste, color and aroma in each batch.

Knob Creek Rye

Unlike the Knob Creek bourbons (which are 9 years old), there’s no age statement with this new rye, which tastes relatively younger. It’s bracing, vibrant, and spicy. (The rye contribution is unmistakable.) Cinnamon spice and crisp mint dominate, with charcoal, botanicals, ginger, nutmeg, honeyed fruit, vanilla, and caramel. Warming spice finish. Its dynamic personality should shine in cocktails, but from a sipping, drinking neat perspective, I wish it was a little older like its siblings

Knob Creek 9 YO

Named after Abraham Lincoln's boyhood home in Kentucky, Knob Creek is arguably bourbon at its finest, often upstaging Bookers (Beam’s intended flagship) in comparative tastings. Created to represent whisky before it was mass produced, Knob Creek embodies the look, feel and taste of pre-prohibition bourbon. Bottled at 50% alc./vol. like all good bourbons were a century ago, Knob Creek is aged nine years in wood, giving it the distinction of being aged the longest of the Small Batch Bourbons. This extra aging allows it to absorb more of the sugar in the wood, giving it a slightly sweeter taste and nose

Makers

December 7, 2015 Ray Rogers
makers 46.jpg

Makers 46

Maker's Mark 46 Kentucky Bourbon Whisky is one unique Bourbon. Starting with the original Maker's Mark whisky, the barrels are emptied of the golden spirit to make way for extra French Oak staves. The whisky is then returned to the barrel and then aged to taste. Ultimately, this helps provide Maker's 46 with its distinct caramel and toasted oak flavour while eliminating the bitterness that usually comes with whiskies that are aged longer.

Makers Mark

Maker's Mark is the world's only bourbon made in small quantities of less than twenty barrels per batch. 'Which means', we are told, 'that the distillers have time to be choosy.' Indeed, the producers attention to detail and commitment to quality is legendary, and on a value/quality basis Maker's Mark must out rank almost every other bourbon on the market.

Old Forester

December 7, 2015 Ray Rogers

Old Forester

In the 1800's, American whiskey was sold in bulk to rectifiers, wholesalers, brokers and retailers. Barrels were branded with a distillery or 'brand' name. Package stores and druggists bottled their own labels from bulk supplies. Unscrupulous rectifiers, jobbers and retailers would often tamper with the quality and integrity of the whiskey in a barrel. In 1870, George Garvin Brown, a young pharmaceuticals salesman in Louisville, Kentucky, saw the need for a consistently high-quality whiskey that met medicinal standards. With $5,500 in saved and borrowed money, Brown and his half brother started J.T.S. Brown and Bro. They sold Old Forester Bourbon Whiskey exclusively in sealed glass bottles to assure its quality, making it America's first bottled bourbon.

Sazerac

December 7, 2015 Ray Rogers

Sazerac Rye dates back to the 1800’s and symbolizes the tradition and history of New Orleans saloons. It was at the Sazerac Coffee House on Royal Street where local patrons were served toddies made with Rye whiskey and Peychaud’s Bitters. The libation became know as the “Sazerac” and America’s first branded cocktail was born. This 6 year-old version of the famous Sazerac Rye is produced at the scenic Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort.

Willet Pot Still

WILLET.jpg

Willet Pot Still

Kentucky Bourbon Distillers (KBD) is responsible for a swath of Bourbon brands, including Noah’s Mill, Rowan’s Creek, and Pure Kentucky, as well as a number of privately owned labels such as Pogue. KBD functions rather like an American version of a Scottish-style independent bottler. They purchase barrels of young whiskey from several Kentucky Bourbon distilleries and age it in their warehouses at Willett, high atop a hill just south of Bardstown. The whiskeys are then released as one of the many KBD brands.

There are two different Bourbon labels which carry the Willett name. One of these is Willett Pot Still Reserve, first released in 2008. The bottle is shaped after the gleaming copper pot still at Willett. - notes partly sourced from Jay Erisman, www.partysource.comsize>

Woodford

In 1996 Labrot & Graham's distillery was re-opened after a U.S.13 million dollar re-furbishment. Distilling has not taken place there since 1812 and not surprisingly the brand is virtually unknown in Australia.

Nevertheless, Woodford is a first class super premium bourbon whisky. Rich in caramel and vanilla character, it comes beautifully packaged in decanter style bottle and is a fantastic gift for the bourbon drinker who thinks he's tried them all.

Hudson baby Bourbon & Manhatten Rye

HUNDSON MAHATTEN RYE.jpg

Tuthilltown Spirits Hudson Manhattan Rye (350ml) & Baby Bourbon

Gardiner, New York State, UNITED STATES

ABV: 46.00%

After a half million dollar investment and jumping through countless legal hoops, the distillery based at the Tuthilltown Gristmill (a National Historic site built in 1788) is now producing excellent small batch, 'hand made' Bourbon, Corn & Rye whiskies. Where possible, local ingredients are employed, with double distillation taking place in a small copper pot still, followed by maturation in tiny American oak casks.

Hudson Baby Bourbon Bottling

Hudson Baby Bourbon is the first legal pot-still whiskey to be produced in New York since prohibition!

In the days before prohibition farm distillers could be found throughout the state of New York and Tuthilltown are doing their bit to put New York back on the whiskey map with this classic bourbon, full of caramel and sweet vanilla notes, it is made from 100% New York corn.

Aged in tiny 2 gallon barrels, the spirit is 'sonically matured' with the help of bass speakers that agitate the cask and the liquid! Each bottle is then hand-filled, waxed and numbered, without the use of carbon or chill filtration.
